Montblanc for UNICEF
Montblanc reaffirmed its commitment to child literacy and education with the launch of its new limited edition collection of writing instruments, timepieces, leather goods and accessories, supporting UNICEF’s work to help the many children who are still denied access to quality education.
Designed around the idea that writing is a precious gift that should be passed on, the Montblanc for UNICEF collection includes the Meisterstück, Writing Is a Gift edition – an original twist on Montblanc’s iconic writing instrument with its alphabet-inspired design to celebrate the preciousness of writing and a blue sapphire to celebrate the bond between Montblanc and UNCEF.
Contemporary large and smaller leather goods feature a blue lining incorporating the first characters of six different languages learned by children all over the world. There are two editions of the Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum timepieces, in support of UNICEF, featuring a world time complication developed by Montblanc master watchmakers, with symbolic references to UNICEF.
In partnership with UNICEF, Montblanc will improve learning for more than 5 million children – having the goal in mind of giving more young people the precious gift of writing and opening a world of endless possibilities. Each item from the Writing Is a Gift collection sold between April 3, 2017, and March 31, 2018, increases the amount that will be donated towards providing more children access to primary education of a better quality. Funds raised by the initiative will help UNICEF to support national education quality standards that cover teaching, reading and writing, the learning environment, community involvement, infrastructure and measuring of learning outcomes.
