Restaurant Month 2020 is proving to be yet another gastronomical highlight in Auckland’s calendar and has now been extended to the end of September. This year celebrates the event’s tenth anniversary with almost 200 participating restaurants showcasing Auckland’s impressive diversity of culinary talent. The special set price menu options of $25, $40 and $55, offering affordable multi-course experiences return with the addition of a new “$15 or less” price point, which will appeal to grab-and-go foodies on a budget.
This year also introduces an all-new “Chef’s Table” Event Series, featuring some of the city’s most celebrated chefs who will take diners on an intimate and exclusive culinary journey in recreating the dishes and influences that have inspired and shaped their careers.
Now a well-established culinary hotspot of the Federal Street dining precinct, exquisite Japanese restaurant and bar MASU by Nic Watt celebrates Restaurant Month at SkyCity this year with a $55 special menu offering, epitomising Watt’s contemporary twist to the traditional Robata style of cooking over an open charcoal grill, and his purist ethos of enhancing the natural flavours of fresh local ingredients in a dish and letting the food speak for itself.
The three-course dinner, available daily from 5pm to 6:30pm, features sashimi and maki roll selections to start, a second course of spicy kimchi chahan, broccoli, shichimi and roasted almonds, and salmon teriyaki or hot pepper miso chicken breast, finished with a green tea tiramisu with roasted rice ice cream.
